Organic and natural systems still require careful pest, disease and weed monitoring. Integrated pest management starts with prevention, field observation and the least-disruptive effective options.
Integrated protection
- Scout regularly and record pest, disease, weed and beneficial-organism observations.
- Use crop rotation, sanitation, resistant or tolerant varieties and appropriate planting dates where feasible.
- Prioritise mechanical, cultural and biological measures that are suitable for the crop and target organism.
- Use any permitted plant-protection input only after confirming current rules, label directions, target crop and safety requirements.
Important: Local production, animal-health, certification and scheme requirements vary. Confirm details with the competent state authority or a qualified local adviser before spending or applying inputs.
